(More customer reviews)"Articulation" is one of those "toy geek words" that the casual buyer probably will roll his eyes at, but it's a very simple and important thing. The fewer joints your toy has, the fewer cool-looking poses it'll be capable of, and the less fun it'll be to play with for your kids. It's that simple.
This figure can't change the position of his elbows or wrists *at all,* and with armor blocking his ability to turn his head or move his arms, he can't change the position of *those* more than to a very small degree either. (It's really a wonder what the designers are thinking, putting joints where the armor makes movement impossible *anyway,* while leaving the parts that have *do* room to move *incapable* of movement.)
Kids want to recreate their favorite scenes, or have their characters fight each other. You know how Goldar does that thing where he crosses his blade with the Green Ranger's to blast the Megazord? If not, trust me: your kid does. But this Goldar's arms can't be moved far enough to do that. You know the similar move he has with Scorpina? Your kid does. But this Goldar's arms can't be moved far enough to do that. Remember how in season two, he'd run his hand along his sword before teleporting? Jason on the ground, crawling through the fog, as Goldar tries to skewer him like a meatball? Your kid does, but... you get the idea.
Your child will be thrilled to have it for all of thirty seconds. Then, when he tries to play with it, and find that its abilities consist of standing in the exact position he's packaged and *that's all* (okay, maybe you can have him raise his arm juuuust a bit), the smiles will fade.
The good news is that he's highly detailed, and you can attach and remove his wings at will (as the show Goldar lost and later regained his wings.) But it doesn't come close to making up for the inability to do anything with him.
